Kenny O. Lanre is one of the new and youngest movie directors currently rocking the Yoruba movie genre of Nollywood. He is from Ibadan in Oyo state. Education for him started from Twins Nursery School, Mushin before he proceeded to Ayetoro Primary School. His secondary School knowledge came from Euba Boys but now known as Euba Secondary School, Mushin, Lagos. He got his National Diploma Certificate in Mass Communication from Lagos State Polytechnic {LASPOTECH}.
His journey into movie industry started in 2004 after he joined Legacy caucus headed by renowned actor cum director, Kunle Afod. Then, his aims and objectives were to be a super star on screen, but when he met Afod, he made him understand that not everybody will become a super star on screen but there are other ways of becoming one aside acting.
Since then, he changed his mind set of becoming an actor to a generator boy which he did for two years. Subsequently, he migrated to be a Light Man for another three years, and later a continuity manager for another five years. In between the five years, he graduated with the likes of Regina Chuckwu, Segun Tom Dollar and others before he started directing in 2014. This year 2018 will make it 4th year he became a movie director.
To his credit, Lanre has directed numbers of blockbuster movies, including Aye Nsare, Eku Ida 1&2, Orente, Ile Owu, Opuro, Owu Gbona, Ogo Ologo, Insecurity, Tinuola, Isele,Ipinya (Divorce), Subomi, Eni Okan Mi, Iya Omo Mi, Edun Okan Mi, Ada ni kan Je,Iree and many others.
He also produced Isele and Eje Mi. At the moment, Kenny Lanre is another hot director Yoruba movie producers are now crazy about, especially among the youths.
