Come first week of February, 2018, a fast-rising Yoruba movie director-cum-producer, Kenny Lanre, will drag the likes of Ibrahim Chatta, Jaye Kuti, Doyin Kukoyi, Ladi Folarin, Wunmi Toriola, Mimiano, Mercy Ebosele and many more to location for the shooting of his 3rd movie entitled: Who’s at Fault {Ebi Tani?}. It’s all about a couple who were hardly involved in sexual intercourse no matter how much they were in love with each other. This is one of the problems that make many marriages not to work.
The talented producer will be addressing the issue that has many moral lessons to teach. We learnt that he will also direct the shooting himself. If you must know, Kenny Lanre is one of the new and young movie directors currently rocking the Yoruba movie genre.
He is from Ibadan in Oyo state. His journey into movie industry started in 2004 when he joined Legacy caucus headed by renowned actor-cum-director, Kunle Afod. Then, his aims and objectives were to be a super star on screen, but when he met Afod, he made him understand that not everybody would become a super star on screen. He also told him that there are other ways of becoming relevant in make-believe industry aside acting.
Since then, Lanre changed his mindset of becoming an actor to becoming a generator boy, which he did for two years. Subsequently, he migrated to be a light man for another three years, and later a continuity manager for another five years. In between the five years, he graduated with the likes of Regina Chuckwu, Segun Tom Dollar and others before he started directing production in 2014. This year 2018 will make it the 4th year, he has became a Movie Director.
