He is a Chartered Member of ACMA {Associate of Chartered Management Accountants}, ACPA {Associate of Chartered Public Administrators of Nigeria}ACIPSMN (Associate Chartered Member of Purchase and Supply Management of Nigeria). He is an educational consultant and a member of Association of Tutorial Operators of Nigeria. He is an indigene of Lagos State, Ibeju Lekki/Lagos Island precisely.
Dacosta is also a co-owner of Prevdac Homes &Properties LTD ,which is developing Atlantic City Estate and Miami Beach Estate in Ibeju Lekki close to Amen Estate and Lekki free Trade Zone. Speaking with Yoruba Movie Gist recently about his career, he said, “I have had passion for acting since I was a young boy, I even wrote my first story and screen- played it while I was in secondary school.
I was in a drama group in church at my university level, but my parents insisted I had to go to school before pursuing any career in acting, Early last year, I made up my mind to fully go into acting and I thank God for the acceptance. I got through Seun Olaiya, a renowned movie director with panache.
I met him through a female friend, who is also an actress, she introduced me to him in Ibadan and from there on, the rest is now history. Before I joined acting, I was and I am still a full time educationist and representative of most international schools abroad.
I am still into it, therefore, I’m combining the two and that’s why some of my friends call me Jack of all trade.
I have been featuring in both English and Yoruba. speaking cadre of Nollywood. It’s been God all the way coupled with my skills and determination.
I really just want to be an actor with a difference because it’s in me. Though, I’m not a perfect actor, but I’m trying and practising every day to be a sought-after actor at all times if possible is my aspiration.
I am working harder to penetrate Kannywood, I mean the Hausa Movie Industry. I know it isn’t that easy because joining acting with my job as an educator has really been strenuous, both have to do with interaction with people. I have featured in several movies both in the English and Yoruba speaking flicks and the movies include Abnormal, Agbedemeji, Oro Mi, Olamidun.
A wife’s Husband, Opeyemi, Disclosure, Akeeke, Tough Call and some TV series like Secret and Scandals, Industreet and Royal Castle to mention but a few. Since I joined the industry, I don’t think I have had any regret at all because I was really determined and ready to face any challenge that comes my way”, he explained.
