One of the leading Yoruba movie marketers in Arena Shopping Complex, Bolade, Oshodi, Lagos, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulrasaq, the chairman Corporate Picture Films has revealed to us what he is at the moment working on to increase the number of his customers buying and viewing the movies coming out from the stable of his brand.
The Ilorin, Kwara State born man of integrity recently had an exclusive interview with the publisher of www.yorubamoviegist.com, Gbolahan Adetayo, who asked him about his views on the current situation of the Arena market.
In his response to the question, the business man, who is also a lecturer and author said, “There is nothing wrong with Arena marketing situation, it’s just that some people prefer to watch movies online than on dvd, but so many people still watch on dvd most especially the grassroots people, so Arena market take care of that end. Also, don’t forget that as a complete distributor, you can not focus on one segment of your customers at the detriment of others, so I can say that Arena distributors (marketers) are what can be regarded as complete distributors because we take care of all needs of our customers, we are there for them on dvd marketing as well as digital marketing. But as for my brand, we try to be as innovative as possible and we work based on reality and current scenario which is the main reason we focus not only on dvd release, our attention is also on digital marketing. Corporate pictures has it’s own youtube channel (Yorubaplus) and we are also working on our own online platform which will be launched immediately after the lockdown. Corporate pictures as a company is always thinking outside the box. We are also working on some cinema projects. It’s still work in progress and we are still in talk with some of my colleagues with like minds. The intention is to make the platform very competitive and a site that lovers of quality movies cannot avoid. YouTube is a free platform. The new platform will showcase cinema standard movies and will be exclusive on that channels before it goes later on YouTube”.
