According to him this morning, “NO GOING BACK!
The Nigerian masses love Nollywood unconditionally and Nollywood will NOT turn our back on them at this crucial time or pay lips service to #endpolicebrutality campaign.
We thank the President C-in-C, The Inspector General of Police, Governors and all key stakeholders for listening and effecting the BAN on SARS but we will not stop demanding until JUSTICE is served on the killer of JIMOH ISIAQ who was killed while protesting in Ogbomosho, also others brutalised during the campaign in various states and those arrested must be released unconditionally.
NIGERIANS STAY AWOKE. That is gross injustice. These Nigerians paid the ultimate price. They are Heroes and must not be abandoned now. Accept the BAN on SARS but that is a preamble to the solution on this agelong menace and cankerworm.
We will peacefully protest tomorrow by 1pm and demand through the Governor & Speaker of Lagos State the following:
i. Anybody who dies in police custody in Nigeria henceforth MUST undergo COMPULSORY autopsy, get a Judge clearance before burial, no matter the religion or pressure. Each community MUST set up a body of local residents that see to this in each division.
ii. All deaths in any Police or law enforcement facility MUST be reported immediately to the office of the Governor under 48hours with Autopsy and Judge Clearance or becomes a crime. These governors are the only ones signing death sentence in the first place.
iii. Torture as a means of investigation should be thoroughly banned across all facilities.
iv. It is time for NATIONAL EMERGENCY NUMBER. This number alone will reduce the spate of Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Police Brutality, Domestic Violence. The President should tell Nigerians why his government cannot deliver on this vital social amenity.
v. Overall, POLICE REFORMATION which MUST include Human Rights Course and constant orientation for all Police Officers across all formation. Most Police Officers look like they do NOT know what the law says on Human Rights.
These as follow up on the BAN ON SAR is efficacious.
