Antar Laniyan is a veteran actor , producer cum
film director currently rocking not just Yoruba movie industry but Nollywood in general.
1) Antar was born in May 26 many years back in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State
southwestern Nigeria after spending 18 months in his mother’s womb.
2) He attended Baptist secondary
school in Lagos State before he later proceeded to the
University of Ibadan where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Theatre Arts.
3)He began acting in 1981 and the first major role he played
as a professional actor was the role of a “major general”
in a film titled Everybody want to know during his days at
the Kakaki Art Squad.
4) He has featured in several
Nigerian films including Sango , a film scripted by Wale
Ogunyemi and produced by Obafemi Lasode .
5) He was the director of the first episode of Super Story , the
award-winning Nigerian soap opera produced by Wale
Adenuga in the year 2000.
6) He also directed Oh Father
Oh Daughter and This Life produced from the stable of
Wale Adenuga Production.
7) As a child, his dream was to become a soldier but that became history when he featured in a stage play when he was in primary school and his principal predicted his journey into Nollywood.
8) Laniyan kan, Oshogbo kan is a prince from a royal family in the city.
9) His elder brother is currently the king of the city and Antar might become the next king of the kingdom in future.
10) He is married to his damsel and their Union is blessed with 4 wonderful kids.
