Shortly after he gave this prediction, precisely on February 8th 2016, a popular actor, Sikiru Adeshina a.k.a Arakangudu died in Kaduna State after suffering from heart attack. And he was buried in his town Osogbo, Capital of Osun State following day. Just a few days after the death of Arakangudu, 2 actor Rabilu Musa aka Dan Ibro, and a popular Kannywood actress were announced dead. And a day after, an upcoming Yoruba actor also died.

His name is Olakunle Shakirudeen Akindele Ayinde. Though, we didn’t actually have the cause of his death but the talented actor died on Thursday February 25. On May 17th, the entire Yoruba movie industry was once again thrown into devastating and mourning mood as one of the strong pillars of the association, Alhaji Ajiboye Fatai Onibuade a.k.a Legend passed away.
We gathered that Onibuade who was a veteran actor and a former chairman of the Association of the Nigerian Theater Arts Practitioners (ANTP) Ikeja, Lagos chapter died on May 17th 2016. The Nigerian movie industry was again thrown into another round of mourning as another actor, Mike Odiache died on Monday, February 15, 2016.
According to reports, Mike passed on after a brief illness at a general hospital in Ikorodu area of Lagos. Veteran Nollywood actor, Festus Aguebor, was also reported dead. The Actor died barely six days after popular actor, Mike Odiachi, was reported dead. ara
The news of his demise was announced by former Director, Actors Guild of Nigeria and ace producer, Fidelis Duker, on his Facebook page. Following the death of a young actor, Olamide David, who played the lead role in Foluke Daramola’s movie, Cobweb, the industry was also put in another mourning mood in 2016. Although, the real cause of his sudden death wasn’t revealed but it was really untimely. Nollywood actor, Fred Ebhoria Ekata reportedly died on 18th May. Ekata, until his death was a member of the Ibinabo led faction of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). The actor known for his elderly roles reportedly died of kidney disease which took him down for nearly one year. The latest death in Nollywood is that of Henrietta Kosoko, wife of Veteran actor, Jide Kosoko who died and was buried a months ago.
Another shocking death in the industry was that of Alfa Lati who died of Ulcer during the Ramadan and he was buried in Oyo Town in Oyo State immediately. The death of Veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi was announced on Wednesday 06 July 2016 and she was buried immediately according to Islamic rite at Atan Cementry. butAnother death that loomed the industry in 2016 was the mother of Veteran actor, Pappy Luwe. He lost his mum, Madam Ruth Omonike Ajile on the 23rd April 2016 and she was buried on Friday 29th July 2016.
The recent death in the industry is from the household of late veteran actress, Iya Mi Leko as his son, Wale Akeem popular known as Omo Iya Mi Leko died recently and was buried immediately according to Islamic rites.
