The National President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria, Fred Amata was on Thursday 4th
August 2016 Inaugurated the Lagos zone/ investment forum at the NAN media center inside the
National Theater, Surulere, Lagos. The event was also held to officially swear in Pat Oghre
Imobhio and Femi Abatan as the Coordinator and the Secretary of the Lagos Zone of the
association. The inauguration, we learnt was done out of the decision taken on April 8, 2016
during the handover/swearing in ceremony of the present administration to harness the collective
potentials of every individual strengths, towards guild growth and development. Harnessing,
these potentials under the mantra, the present administration has created new zones in addition to
the existing ones to engineer proper and effective structuring of the guild. One of these zones is
the Lagos which was inaugurated last week, while Benin zone is scheduled to hold on August
11th, 2016. Akwa, Cross Rivers, Jos and a few other ones we also gathered will be inaugurated
between this month and September, 2016. The president of the association, Amata emphasized
that the present administration intends to bring sanity, unity, serious-mindedness, and discipline
to DGN on one hand and Nollywood on the other as they seek frontiers of interaction between
the guild and associations.
