The Theater Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN), under the President, Dele Odule has appealed to his association members and all entertainers in the Nigeria to assist both the Federal and State Government by paying their taxes in order to achieve its aims and goals of making Nigeria a better country. Odule made this appeal in Ibadan, Oyo State recently during the meeting with members of the association’s Central Working Committee and National Executive Council. The TAMPPAN leader noted that by paying taxes at the appropriate time will help the government in putting in place infrastructural development that will uplift people’s lives.
“We have to see to it that all our members are law abiding and good citizens of the country because we are the mirror of the society. I’ll enjoin all TAMPPAN members to pay their tax according to their income,” Odule pleaded. The closed door meeting, which lasted for about six hours, had all the association’ state chapters Governors and National Officers in attendance. At the meeting, Odule gave an appraisal of the year 2015 which he said was good for members and the industry as a whole. While soliciting for their support and commitment, he enjoined them to brace up for year 2016 because they have much work to be done. Among other far-reaching decisions taken at the meeting is the decision that all producers under TAMPPAN must at all times sign an agreement with any marketing organization buying outright or distributing their films. He said the signed agreement will help the Association in addressing issues wherever the producer or the marketer defaulted. The president said henceforth any member without the association’s identity card should not be allowed into any TAMPPAN meeting venue be it at the local, state or national level.
